A respected clinical psychologist and successful business consultant, Leslie Pratch boasts an impressive record of academic and professional accomplishments. Currently, Leslie Pratch leverages her expertise as the President and C.E.O. of Pratch & Company, a highly acclaimed corporate advisory firm headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. After earning a B.A. in Religion from Williams College in 1984, LesliePratch chose to pursue new challenges, entering into a Master’s program in the Committee on Human Development at the University of Chicago. Although she possessed no previous scholastic experience in the field of psychology, Leslie Pratch received a four-year Century Fellowship to study at the University of Chicago. In 1988, Leslie Pratch transferred to Northwestern University for the purpose of obtaining a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from an accredited institution. That same year, Arthur Andersen hired Leslie Pratch in a consultancy role, requesting her input regarding a program for fostering leadership among the company’s most promising junior partner population. Over the course of her tenure consulting at Arthur Andersen, Leslie Pratch created an innovative training program specially designed to cultivate the innate talents of promising young employees. Although Leslie Pratch eventually ceased consulting to Arthur Andersen to focus on other educational and professional ventures, the training program (including the curriculum and lectures) she developed was used to inform executive hiring and promotion strategy for 10 years after her departure. Graduating from Northwestern University in 1995 with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, Leslie Pratch subsequently moved on to complete her M.B.A. in Strategy and Finance at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2000. Before she founded Pratch & Company in 1998, Leslie Pratch acquired funding from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business to fuel a research project on issues related to the personality traits that set excellent business leaders apart from their colleagues. As a post-doctoral fellow, Leslie Pratch assisted senior corporate officers at State Farm Insurance in constructing a “library of competencies” for use in employee performance evaluations. Today, Leslie Pratch divides her time between her responsibilities at Pratch & Company and her many speaking engagements and writing projects. At present, Leslie Pratch is finishing a book on the subject of how an individual’s psychological coping methods can predict that person’s potential as a business leader. | |||||
